• Taking Stock
We're coming up on the halfway point of the school year.  It's usually that time of the year when I can take stock of what we've accomplished and can look down the road at what we have yet to do.  Teaching four different grade levels gives me the view of how all the pieces come together by the time students move on to middle school, which I find very satisfying.  It's almost like conducing an orchestra.  Teaching third graders how to save a file, fourth graders how to do a slide shows, and 5th graders search engine strategies individually, sounds like fun.  However, when 5th graders begin to use Google Drive to do multimedia presentations for assignments, that's when all the skills that were developed in my class come together.  It's the beauty of seeing individual skills come together to create something special that I find very satisfying as a teacher.
