We are a noncredit community program for the college that offers private music lessons, ensemble experiences, and classes for children and adults. Our lessons and ensembles run on a semester basis, however, we do have open enrollment throughout the semester and year. We offer lessons and performance opportunities for beginners to advanced musicians. We currently have 27 instructors on our faculty, some of which are also professors and adjunct professors for our Music Department at Lebanon Valley College. We are currently enrolling for a beginner guitar class, string ensemble, private lessons, and Kindermusik. For more information you can visit www.lvc.edu/cmi or email email@example.com.
Lebanon Valley College’s Community Music Institute is offering the following opportunities this academic year:
CMI Chamber Ensemble
Open to musicians of all ages and playing levels, advanced-beginner through intermediate-advanced. Music will be adapted to individual ability! All age students (school age to adult) are welcome. Ensemble playing skills and practice techniques will be taught in a group setting. The ensemble runs September 9 through November 11.
Beginning Guitar Class
A beginning guitar class will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. starting October for eight weeks.
This is a great opportunity for students already involved in a music program or looking to be part of a popular music ensemble. It teaches kids to perform, improvise and compose using the popular styles that they know and love including rock, pop, reggae, hip hop, R & B and other modern styles. Modern Band classes feature ukuleles, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, vocals, and technology. The pedagogy is based on Music as a Second Language. Classes will be starting later this fall.
CMI offers private voice and instrumental lessons to beginners through advanced students.
