    Hershey Middle School Bands – Charms Login/Update Information Instructions

     

    The Hershey Middle and High School band programs use an information management system called (for some unknown reason) CHARMS. One you enter your information into CHARMS, it follows your child from grade to grade until they leave the program. It also allows you great flexibility in the ways you receive information. Email through CHARMS will be the primary method I use to communicate to you and your child regarding important band information. Also, if your email changes, or you move, it’s easy for you to update that information in CHARMS at your convenience.

     

    Please take a few minutes and follow the 5 simple steps below to get started. I appreciate your time.

     

    STEP 1: LOGIN: Please go to https://www.charmsoffice.com/charms/login.asp

     

    You’ll see this screen – type HersheyMSBand in the space indicated and click on “Enter Student/Parent Area.”

    STEP 2: - Enter your student password and click “enter.” The first time you login, this will be your child’s six-digit DTSD ID Number.

    STEP 3: PASSWORD CHANGE

     

    You’ll immediately be asked to change your password – this will only happen the first time you login. Please choose a password that you AND your child will remember. In the example below I used “middle name” as a password and hint, but you may use whatever you like.

    STEP 4: Select STUDENT INFORMATION screen and click on “Personal Information.”

    STEP 4: Add student information.

     

    The student name, grade, gender, and ID number are prepopulated for you. Please make sure the following items are complete:

    ·      Street Address, City, State, Zip Code

    ·      Home Phone (student cell phone is optional)

    ·      Email – the first email listed for the student MUST be their DTSD email. Additional emails may be added using semicolons as separators.

     

    CLICK THE GREEN “UPDATE” BUTTON IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS SCREEN or your information will not be saved.

    STEP 5: Add Adult information – AFTER clicking the “UPDATE” button on the student screen in the student screen, click the “Add New Adult” button. You’ll see the screen below. Please make sure the following items are complete (you can add as many adults as you wish, just click the “update” button and then add another):

     

    ·      Adult First and Last Names

    ·      Street Address, City, State, Zip Code

    ·      Home Phone and Cell Phone (these are often the same – no worries there)

    o   I don’t need your work phone or cell carrier.

    ·      Email – the first email should be the email you use most often. There are lines for two emails; additional emails may be added in each field using semicolons as separators.
