Meet the Teacher
Welcome to room 28! My name is Mrs. Dreher and I will be your child’s first grade teacher. As we all know, first grade is a very important year in your child’s life. My goal is to ensure that your child has a fulfilling experience by providing an atmosphere for learning that will allow each student to reach his or her full potential.
Since I will be spending a lot of time with your child, I would like to take this opportunity to share a few things about myself both personally and professionally. I grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Central Dauphin High School. I attended Harrisburg Area Community College, where I received my associate degree in Elementary Education. I received my B.S. in Elementary Ed./Early Childhood from Shippensburg University. I have a Masters plus 32 credits in Elementary Ed. This will be my twenty- seventh year of teaching first grade. I have mentored many student teachers, been the Yearbook Advisor/Editor for twenty- three years and was the First Grade Level Coordinator for fourteen years. More info. can be found in our Class Handbook.
I am really looking forward to working with you and your child. My goal is for each child to have an exciting, productive and significant first grade experience. Working together will help keep the enthusiasm and love of learning flourishing in your child. After all, Things turn out better, when we work together!!!
