Camp CollegeCamp College is an intensive three day/two night workshop for 60 current high school sophomores and juniors. Paired with mentors, participants will learn about all aspects of the college search and application process, experience life in residence halls, learn about financial aid, standardized test exams and have a lot of fun. At the end of camp, attendees will be equipped with tools to navigate the college application process. The camp will be held at Cabrini University, outside Philadelphia from Tuesday, 7/24 through Thursday, 7/26. Click here for more details, including how to apply. The deadline to apply is April 15th but students are encouraged to apply early.U.S. Service Academy Information DayAny student interested in attending one of the U.S. Service Academies should attend the U.S. Service Academy Information Day to be held on Saturday March 24th at Hamburg Area High School. The program will begin promptly at 9am and end at 12pm. This year’s essay prompt is To what extent in the U.S. does the government–federal, state, and local–have the duty to monitor internet content? The winner of the competition will receive $5,000 and a scholarship to the 2018 Constitutional Academy in Washington, D.C. Six Runner Ups will receive $1,250 each. Eight honorable mentions will receive prizes of $500 each. The deadline to enter is February 5, 2018. STEM-SEP is a free two week program for high school students designed to improve their knowledge through hands on activities in a variety of STEM areas. The program will include field trips, demonstrations, experiments, projects and assistance in learning how to conduct scientific presentations. Students will receive a calculator and other training materials. The rogram will run from 6/11/18-6/22/18, Monday Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The deadline to apply is February 18, 2018 by 5:00pm.
