• Athletic Exams
    Overview
All students interested in going out for a district-sponsored sport team are required to complete a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation.  As a service to its students, Derry Township School District offers phsyical exams during the summer.    Physical dates for the 2018-19 school year are Monday, June 4th & Wednesday, August 1st from 6:00-8:00pm.  Cost $22.
Please call the athletic office at 717-531-2205 to schedule a time.  You may also have your physical completed by your family physcian.  Physical must be dated on or after June 1, 2018.  No sports physicals will be given at the school before the winter and spring seasons.   Completing the physical is the responsibility of the student athlete and not that of the district.

The Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation should be completed after June 1 for the first season of competition in the new athletic year. All subsequent sport seasons in an athletic year require a PIAA Section 7 re-certification, signed by a parent.  If a student-athlete sustained an injury after the physical was competed, they must have a Section 7 as well as Section 8, signed by the doctor to participate.

Fall Sports Athletes: The first day of fall sports practice is Monday, August 13th.  All physical paperwork & recertification forms are due to the athletic office at least one week before this date.

ImPACT Testing: Derry Township School District will no longer require or perform ImPACT baseline testing for athletic participation due to current research.  ImPACT will be used for post-injury assessment only.
