A partnership of neighboring schools, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and concerned community members has come together to offer “YOU MATTER: Real Life Stories & Resources for Suicide Prevention” – a community forum designed to address one of society’s toughest issues. This free event will be held Thursday, March 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Garden Terrace Ballroom in the Hotel Hershey (100 Hotel Rd, Hershey, PA).
The keynote speaker for the event is LeAnn Hull. An accomplished businesswoman, the direction of LeAnn’s life changed with the loss of her 16-year-old son to suicide. In response to this tragedy, she founded Andy Hull’s Sunshine Foundation with the mission to raise awareness of the high rate of suicide and provide coping skills to deal with life’s challenges. With a “You Matter!” approach, the group offers education, support and encouragement.
Following LeAnn’s message, there will be a panel discussion featuring community members and local experts.
The forum is sponsored by Derry Township School District, Lower Dauphin School District, Milton Hershey School, Middletown Area School District, Palmyra Area School District, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and caring community members.
The event is free, but attendance is capped at 400 and pre-registration is required. No cost general admission tickets are available online.
All parents and their children (middle school age and above) are encouraged to attend.
