Ratings Web Site Lauds DTSD as Among Best in the Country

Derry Township School District has been awarded an overall “A+” by Niche, a web site that publishes research on U.S. colleges, schools, neighborhoods and companies. In the recently-released 2019 rankings, DTSD earned high marks locally, statewide and nationally in categories ranging from school safety, best places to teach and best teachers.

The site ranked the district as overall “Best” in Dauphin County, #19 (of 498) in Pennsylvania and #163 among the 10,758 public school districts rated across the nation. Individual schools within the district also received high marks, with Hershey High School, for instance, earning accolades in College Preparation and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Education.

On its “report card,” Niche graded DTSD with an “A” or higher in the specific categories of Academics, Teachers, College Prep, Clubs & Activities, Health & Safety, Administration, Food and Resources & Facilities.
