It is with great enthusiasm that I resume my work with Hershey Middle School as an assistant principal. I realize the great responsibility that I have to inspire, empower, and influence our youth, as well as, the opportunity to positively impact the families, staff, and community that support our students. I strongly believe that students deserve a top-quality, rigorous education that will prepare them well for success in college and life. Involved parents and compassionate adults are essential in that endeavor. I want to make a positive impact towards equity and excellence in our schools so our students will make their own positive and lasting impact in our world.

I started teaching in 1999. I have taught social studies at Manheim Township School District and served as content specialist, online educator, coach, new teacher mentor, and foreign exchange chaperone.  Since arriving in Hershey, I have been involved in curriculum writing with technology applications, professional staff development, career fairs, various clubs, and other building and district-wide leadership committees.

My educational background includes two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University, a master’s degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University, teaching certifications in Social Studies, Spanish and Family and Consumer Science, a K-12 Principal certification, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata University.

I have been married for over 25 years and have a son and daughter. My favorite activities include spending time with family, shopping, cooking, walking, reading, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends and neighbors, and spending time at the Jersey shore. My community volunteering includes weekly youth ministry, tutoring, fundraising for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, PTO, Lancashire Hall- a nursing a rehabilitation center, and Talbot Hospice.

Prior to coming to the district, I served as a school counselor in Central Dauphin School District at Swatara Middle School from 2008 until 2014, at which time I transitioned into the Assistant Principal role. I served in this capacity for a year and a half before transferring to Central Dauphin East High School during the 2015-2016 school year. This year marked the start of my seventh year as an administrator for East High.

My educational background is varied. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Human Services from Elizabethtown College. My graduate school education through Shippensburg University consists of a Master of Science degree in Administration of Juvenile Justice, a Master of Education in Secondary School Counseling along with a National Board Certified Counselor certification, and a Principal Certification K-12.

As an educational leader, I hope to enhance student learning by guiding support resources and distributive leadership practices that build capacity for school improvement, student success, and overall well-being. I strive to be a continuous agent of change, while leading with deep passion for creating long lasting influence on the lives of students and families. I am excited to partner with you to cultivate Community, Opportunity, Citizenship, Ownership and Academics.
