Hershey High School Cantabile is an auditioned ensemble that meets daily. It is one of three choirs in the school’s vocal music program. Repertoire performed by Hershey Cantabile ranges from renaissance to popular. HHS Cantabile has received Superior and Excellent ratings in numerous festivals, including the 2001 Roxbury High School Invitational where they were selected to the evening showcase performance in the Concert Choir division. HHS Choirs frequently share the stage with the Harrisburg Symphony and Youth Symphony, most recently in December of 2006 as a part of their annual Holiday Spectacular. Hershey Choirs have performed on the campuses of Bucknell University, Lebanon Valley College, the Pennsylvania State University for the 2003 Celebration of Spirituals, the University of Pittsburgh for the 2002 Heinz Chapel Chamber Choir Festival and Susquehanna University. In 2004, HHS Cantabile and the Central Dauphin “CD Singers” combined forces for concert performances at the Pennsylvania State Music Educators Association Conference and Convention in Erie, Pennsylvania and with the Harrisburg Youth Symphony. In 2005, Cantabile earned recognition as the top Concert Choir at the Capitol Choral Festival sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association and the Harrisburg Singers. In 2006, 2008 and 2011 members of Cantabile completed performance tours of Italy, Slovenia and Austria. In 2012, Cantabile placed second, earning a silver rating in their performance division and was a featured performing ensemble at the Roxbury High School Choir Invitational. In 2012, HHS placed two choirs in the evening performance and became the first school to do so in the festival's twenty-one year history. 2013 marked an inaugural performance with the Central Pennsylvania Symphony as well as performing at the 2013 Keystone State Games as a part of their opening ceremonies. In 2013, Cantabile earned "Grand Champion" honors as the top concert choir at the Roxbury High School Choir Invitational! HHS Cantabile completed their fourth international tour in June of 2014 with performances in Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria and Hungary. In 2015, HHS Cantabile will sing at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Convention. In March of 2016, Cantabile earned a gold rating and "Overall Best Choir" at the Roxbury HS Choir Invitational. In December of 2016, Cantabile will share the stage with the Central Pennsylvania Symphony.
