New Entrant Registration
Enrollment in Derry Township School District is limited to bona fide residents of Derry Township. (The district does not accept non-resident tuition students.) Parents or guardians who wish to enroll students in the district should establish residency prior to initiating registration. Establishing residency does not mean you must be fully moved in – a signed lease or a settlement/sales agreement can provide you with the documentation you should have when contacting the district registrar.New student enrollment is a two-part process that includes online pre-registration followed by a registration appointment with a district representative.Registering During the School Year
Once you know your Derry Township address, please call the DTSD District Office at 717-508-7419 or email District Registrar. At that time, you will be provided instructions on accessing the online pre-registration portal.After completing the online pre-registration AND assembling all documents required for enrollment, parents or guardians may screenshot or scan all documents to District Registrar to finalize the registration. All new registrations will be processed at the District Office (30 East Granada Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033).
Finalized registrations will be confirmed once all documentation has been submitted. The parent/guardian of record must be the individual registering a new student.Registering for the Upcoming School Year
The district begins accepting registration for the upcoming school year beginning May 15. Once you know your Derry Township address, please call the DTSD District Office at 717-508-7419. At that time, you will be provided instructions on accessing the online pre-registration portal.After completing the online pre-registration AND assembling all documents required for enrollment (listed below), parents or guardians may screenshot or scan all documents to District Registrar to finalize the registration. All new registrations will be processed at the District Office (30 East Granada Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033). Registration appointments during the school year are available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Summer registration hours are Monday through Thursday.Finalized registrations will be conducted only through a prescheduled appointment. The parent/guardian of record must be the individual registering a new student and must conduct the registration in person.Kindergarten Registration
The Early Childhood Center (ECC) is home to all of our district kindergarten classes. In order to enroll for kindergarten, a child must turn 5 years of age prior to the first day of September. Kindergarten registration for a new school year is conducted at the ECC in late winter. Specific dates and the procedures for kindergarten registration are announced annually. If your child is eligible to attend kindergarten and you did not complete registration prior to May 15, please follow the instructions for “Registering for the Upcoming School Year” found above.
SPECIAL NOTE: New kindergarten enrollments are not accepted after the first two weeks of a school year.Required Documents
The following documents are required for the processing of a new student enrollment and MUST be presented at the time of the enrollment- Proof of residency (a deed, a lease, a current utility or credit card bill, current car registration, or a Derry Township tax bill)
- Child’s birth certificate or similar document (passport or baptismal certificate)
- Driver’s license or some other form of identification for the parent or guardian
- Immunization Records (Available from your child’s physician or current school)
Additional documents which may be helpful to the district should you wish to provide:

Child’s past and current report card as well as any applicable transcripts if the child has previously attended another school

Custody Agreements, Temporary Protection from Abuse (PFA), or other court orders

IEP (Individualized Educational Program)
