My name is Heather Ortiz and I am so excited to by your child's 1st grade teacher. I try to keep my classroom very structured but still very fun and inviting to all of the kids. We share our room all year, so I strive to make our room a safe and comfortable place for all of the kids to come to.
This is my fifth year working in the Derry Township School District. I grew up in Harrisburg, and I attended the Central Dauphin School District. I then attended Harrisburg Area Community College and got my bachelor's degree from Millersville University. I am now working on my Master's degree at Millersville.
I enjoy reading, spending time with my families and friends, coloring, and playing with my pets. I have one dog Molly and one cat Ollie. I love to go to the beach, Disney World, and pretty much anywhere else. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places.
