Mrs. Kimberly Pegher

Mrs. Pegher is from State College, PA, Home of Penn State!  She graduated with honors from Elizabethtown College in 1997 with a dual major in early childhood and elementary education and a minor in French.  She has her Master’s Degree from Wilkes University, with an additional 45 graduate credits in a variety of subjects, including gifted education and counseling.


After student teaching at Hershey Elementary in 5th grade and Kindergarten, Mrs. Pegher started her teaching career in North Carolina.  There, she taught 5th grade before becoming a certified teacher of the gifted. She was also named the 2000 Siecor Math/Science Teacher of the Year in Hickory, NC, an award she shared with her late husband, who was a 3rd/4th grade teacher, here in Hershey.  In 2000, she returned to Hershey to teach gifted support in both the elementary and middle schools.  She has coached numerous successful academic teams in both buildings, including winning teams in the Let's Get Real International Business Challege, the Hasbro Toy Challenge-East Coast and the CAIU 24 tournament. This is Mrs. Pegher's 23rd year teaching and her 4th year in 6th grade ELA.


In the summers, Mrs. Pegher volunteers as an official for the Hummelstown Swim Team.  In her free time, she stays busy with her kids, ages 18 and 13.  Mrs. Pegher loves lava, competitive swimming, ballet and sloths.  The Pegher family enjoys kayaking as long as the weather is nice!
