    Application Information 

    If you are interested in becoming a classroom assistant for the 2022-23 school year, please complete the following online survey:

    During the application process: Listen to Morning Announcements for the opening.  Flyer will be posted with QR code outside counseling office and outside my office D 108 1/2 when the application link opens. 

     

    There will be a mandatory meeting for all classroom assistants in the FALL so listen to the announcements and check your school email for date and time. Instructions will be emailed to those that complete the application prior to the deadline.

     

    Classroom Assistants: You will be asked to join my Remind section for Classroom Assistants. 

    You will receive the Remind sign-up information at the Fall meeting.

     

    Also, if you are working outside of the high school in other schools in the district, you will be required to have a DTSD badge. You will be given information to obtain one at the Fall meeting.  

     

    Please understand that your attendance, grades and discipline are important and will be evaluated during the application process to be certain that you qualify to become an assistant.  Do not contact your guidance counselor about adding this to our schedule until you receive your schedule when school begins in the fall. 

    Classroom Assistant's assist in a classroom during their study halls or after school. They typically assist two or three days a week but that can be flexible. Most assist during the whole school year, but some only assist during a semester based on their schedule. The student and teacher determine the best schedule. Some of the tasks may include photocopying, reading to students, helping clean up after activities, making bulletin boards, or things of that nature. The program is not a class period in their course schedule.   

     

    Classroom assistants must volunteer approximately 13 hours during any one of the marking periods to earn the .25 credit once for the year.
