Clubs and organizations meet outside school hours. Everyone, staff, and students are encouraged to participate in some of these activities. A faculty sponsor is needed in order for a club or organization to assemble.

This club seeks to "shatter" the silence that surrounds depression, suicide, and other issues facing youth" Aevidum in Latin means "I got your back"

American Sign Language Club (ASL)
This club will offer an opportunity to all students interested in the ASL Language a space to learn, socialize, and practice. Would allow for ample opportunities for the ASL language to grow in popularity at the school.

Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE)
ACE is made up of affiliates that serve youth within a certain city or region. Students meet once a week (Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:30 PM – October-March) with mentors at the DCTS in the professional or skilled trade areas. Students are broken into teams and each team is set up to emulate an actual design team with students guided through a mock design project by their architect, engineer, and construction management mentors. Art by Women of Colour Club
This club would contribute to the education of different cultures and diverse education techniques of Hershey High School. It would expand on many subjects not touched on in arts and humanities classes, specifically focusing on women of colour.

Automotive Appreciation Club
The Automotive Appreciation Club would give a unique opportunity of extracurricular involvement to its students and give those who join the ability to learn about automobiles. It is not a requirement to possess a vehicle to show, but those who take pride in their vehicles or perform their own work.

This club is to establish global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for 1:1 friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities IDD

Biology Club
HHS Biology club is a student-driven, exploratory club where students can enhance their biological knowledge. Students work with the advisor to develop investigations covering the topic(s) of their choosing. This club generally meets two-to-four times per year after the school day.

Book Club
Reading and discussing literature allows students to think critically about situations, whether they be social, political, environmental, anything, in a way they might not have before. Reading gives you a new understanding of other people as well as general public as a whole. This book club is a great opportunity for students from all grade levels to connect with others who also share an interest in reading and discussing books.

Brain Bee
The International Brain Bee is a not-for-profit neuroscience competition for high school students. Directed by founder Dr. Norbert Myslinski of the University of Maryland, the Brain Bee is an attempt to motivate students to learn about the brain, to capture their imaginations, and to inspire them to pursue careers in biomedical brain research.

Brain Busters
Brain Busters is a regional competition sponsored by Westfield Insurance company. This program permits teams from regional schools to compete for scholarships and prizes. The questions involve higher level thinking skills in analysis and application as well as knowledge and comprehension. Because so many topics are covered, these exercises would be useful for students interested in Quiz Bowl and similar activities.

Breakfast Club
This club would give out free coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc for our club members to enjoy while listening to occasional guest speakers who could help them learn about their futures. Phones will be left at the door. Due to social media, games, and texting, today's teens miss out on a lot of real world interaction from being on their phones.

Broadcaster
The Broadcaster Club at Hershey High School is for both students who have taken journalism and those simply interested in journalism. Our focus in on learning and experimentation with journalistic forms and technology.

The Economics Pennsylvania offers challenges in Business Planning and Entrepreneurial skills. Two competitions are available annually.

CAIU Science Fair
Students in this club choose, design, and carry out an independent science fair project to enter in a regional science fair competition. At the competition, participants display a poster board of their work and answer questions asked by a small group of judges. The top three projects in the region advance to the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) where they compete against the best projects from around the world.

CARE Club
CARE Club members will use funds collected through fundraisers and physical donations to provide for local homeless shelters and those who were disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. They will also promote COVID safety measures by educating our community.

The Chess Club provides students with the opportunity to gather and play chess. The club is open to all students in grades 9-12 and chess players of all skill levels.

Chocapella
Chocapella is a student-lead, acapella singing group that performs at local events. Students unite in sharing their talents and passions for performance, using only their voices to sing both traditional and contemporary songs.

Classroom Assistants
This program is designed to give students who are interested in pursuing a career in education or child care an opportunity to work with the teachers and children in the elementary, middle or high school. Applications are available beginning in May and are completed online. Placement is made in the fall of the year. Students can work approximately 12 hours each quarter during their study halls, before or after school. Students can earn ¼ credit for completion.

Community Service Program
This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in their school and community while exploring their interests and helping others. Eligible students may use volunteer hours and experiences for academic credit.

Compassion for Animals Club
The Compassion for Animals club works to raise funds for local rescues and raise awareness for the plight of animals giving a voice to the voiceless. This club meets every other week right after school in room 219.

Cook to Connect Club
Cook to Connect Club's main idea is to bring people of different ethnic backgrounds together once a month for a potluck after school bringing in food from their culture. This club will bring people together while simultaneously expanding students' horizons.

The Cubing Club provides students with the opportunity to share strategies and practice solving various puzzles including the Rubik’s Cube. The club is open to all students in grades 9-12 and students of all skill levels.

This club will allow students to gather after school to play a game that involves being creative, using critical thinking skills taught in many classes, and connecting with other students.

Eastern European Cultures Club (EECC) This club will help diversify our school and engage our students in new cultures. Club members will get to learn about the everyday lifestyles in Slavic countries and their ethnic backgrounds.

This club would work to educate our student body, reduce our school's carbon footprint, and encourage our community to live sustainably.

Envirothon Club
Envirothon is a team environmental science competition. Teams of five will complete in the following categories: Soils, Aquatics, Forestry, Wildlife and a Current Issue. The competition includes identification such as wildlife tracks or mounts, bird calls, skins to pelts, fish, macroinvertebrates, trees, soil textures and soil horizons as well as hands on investigations and general knowledge questions. eSports Team Club
The ESports club allows teams of Hershey High School students to compete against teams from other high schools around the country. We have teams registered to play DOTA2, League of Legends and Rocket League, but are always willing to consider new games and add new teams.

Film Club
Film Club is a club that will bring students together through the viewing of movies. I this club students will gain social experiences as well as enhance their ability to analyze and depict the importance of films and how they affect us today.

Four Diamonds
At Hershey High School, Mini-THON Chairs and Committees prepare for the annual Mini-THON to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund. The fund exists solely for the benefit of children with cancer at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. The primary purpose is to underwrite the cost of care not covered by insurance as well as other needs. HHS students are able to apply for director and committee positions in the spring of each school year for leadership positions in the following school year.

French Club
French Club at Hershey High School is made up of a group of students that are enthusiastic about the French language and the various francophone cultures of the world. Students meet monthly to socialize and participate in activities related to French culture: making crêpes, watching French films, holiday celebrations, taking a cooking class, visiting a museum, etc. All are welcome!

French National Honor Society
French National Honor Society is a national organization made up of students who have demonstrated high academic achievement in French. The charter of the Société Honoraire de Français expects members to encourage and support the study of the French language and culture. Students host an exhibit at the local International Fair and go to the elementary school to teach a lesson about where French is spoken in the world. Students must apply to be a part of this group.

Future Business Leaders of America
FBLA-Future Business Leaders of America-is an educational association of student members preparing for careers in business or who are just simply interested in learning more about the free enterprise system. FBLA helps students develop leadership abilities, and prepare for entry into, and advancement within, a business or business-related occupation. Members must apply for membership and could compete at the regional, state and national level and also participate in a variety of activities.

Garden Club
Created in 2014, the Garden Club of HHS uses eight raised beds just outside the school building. A variety of fruits and vegetables are grown and donated to local food-providing organizations such as Gemma’s Angels, and our local Cocoa Packs. Spring time is our busy season and there are summer requirements as well.

Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)
GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) is a club that meets biweekly with the intent to give all students, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, and intellectual ability, a place to meet and discuss LGBTQ topics and issues. In addition, the GSA organizes and participates in activities such as the Day of Equality, a yearly student leadership summit, and fundraising.

HCEP (Health Career Exploration Program)
Healthcare Career Exploration Program (HCEP) introduces selected senior students each year to a variety of areas at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. It allows high school students the opportunity to interact with healthcare professionals in a real-work environment and to explore various healthcare professions. Students who have demonstrated an interest in medical, science and related careers are targeted for this program. Students have an application for the school and one for the hospital to compete in the Spring of the school year prior. Participants selected by hospital.

Helping Women, Period Club
The goal of this club is to donate female hygiene products to disadvantaged women. The focus on giving back to our community and to those in need is what creates productive, global citizens.

Hershey Community Youth Alliance is a partnership between student leaders from Milton Hershey School and Hershey High School. The organization strives to unify our town through community, service, and leadership.

HHS Theatre (Fall Play, Spring Play, Musical)
HHS Theatre offers three production opportunities during the year—a Fall Play, a Winter Musical, and a Spring Play. We value all of our participants equally, both those on-stage and those behind-the-scenes, recognizing the essential nature of every cast/crew member’s role in successfully bringing a work to the stage. We encourage all students who are interested in the many “roles” of live theater to join us as part of the HHS Theatre family.

HHS Humanities Club is a club that seeks to offer opportunities for all HHS students interested in the arts and humanities. This club is driven by student interests, but activities have included watching musicals, going to museums, and attending concerts and arts festivals. This club is open to all HHS students, and new members are always welcome.

Ice Hockey Club
The HHS Hockey Club is made up of student athletes from Hershey High School and welcomes players of all skill levels to the team. The HHS Hockey Club strives to develop the student athletes with the knowledge, skills, leadership, and sportsmanship in regard to high school level team oriented athletics. The HHS Hockey Club is a competitive program that plays a full schedule against other high schools in the region.

Intersectional Feminist Club
The Intersectional Feminist Club works to create a space where students can learn about intersectional feminism, as well as how to help with related issues in our communitiy. This club would help Hershey High School students educate themselves about various issues and create a better environment for the school community as a whole.

Jazz Band Club
Our Jazz Ensemble program consists of a large "Big Band" and smaller Jazz Combo. All instruments are encouraged to audition, but instrumentation centers on traditional jazz instruments. These ensembles do not rehearse on the school day and are selected by audition. Wind and percussion players are selected by audition from the Concert Band classes; guitar, bass and piano players are also auditioned from outside the band program. Rehearsals take place outside the school day.

K-Pop Club
Hershey High School K-Pop Club is an enthusiastic group of students who learn choreography and dance routines, perform at events (i.e. the HCYA Talent Show), and talk about all things K-Pop. Our hope is to bring students together through Korean culture and inspire others to try new, exciting activities. We meet every Saturday via zoom at 3pm, and we encourage anyone who has an interest in K-Pop or a love for dance to bring a friend and join the fun!

Key Club is an international service organization established by Kiwanis International. Students meet twice a month to discuss local, national and/or international service project opportunities. Officers are elected during the prior school year to lead the club. Students are encouraged to select the service opportunities in which they want to participate each month. Learning Commons Council
The Learning Commons Council aims to enhance the culture and physical environment of the library, which is a central learning commons in Hershey High School. Students in grades 9 – 12 gather input from peers to determine the student perspective about how to make the Learning Commons a transformative environment conducive to academic learning, inspired creation, social and club gatherings and various other flexible learning environment needs. The members work closely with the librarian.

Leftover Impacts Club
Leftover Impacts is a club where studentts make deals with restaurants (usually dine in or fast food), to pick up their uneaten food after they close and subsequently donate it to homeless shelters, churches, or other charitable organizations.

Marching Band
The Marching Trojan band is an instrumental/visual ensemble that serves HHS and the community through performances at athletic and community events. Students attend band camp at HHS in August and regular weekly rehearsals through early November. Band camp, all performances and all rehearsals are mandatory. The course does not meet during the school day. Wind and percussion players are expected to participate in one of our concert bands.

Math National Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta):
For students in Precalculus or higher, with a weighted average in their math courses of 93% or higher. The students will attend monthly meetings to discuss various things including service activities. Students must complete at least two math related service activities each year.

For students who love math and are seeking challenging math problems not usually done in a math course. The team goes to various local colleges for different types of competitions.

Matthew 28:19 Club
Matthew 28:19 is a club for Christian fellowship at Hershey High School. The club meets Friday mornings from 7:10-7:30 a.m. for prayer, discussion and fellowship. Each year, the club runs the Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive to send Christmas gifts to kids around the world.

Memory Team
The USA Memory Championship is an Olympiad for 'thinking' games. Set up as a sporting event for Mental Athletes, the tournament consists of memory challenging tournament-style competitive events including memorization of: 99 names and faces, a shuffled deck of cards, an unpublished poem, speed numbers, and a list of 500 words. Mental Athletes compete for gold, silver and bronze awards in individual competitions as well as for the entire event.

Model United Nations (UN)
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. The club meets weekly to prepare to participate in several MUN conferences throughout the school year. Students interested in discussing international issues and improving their public speaking skills should consider joining MUN.

Music Mentors Club
The goal of this club is to volunteer the time and talents of the high school musicians to the elementary school's band program. This club will help build bridges between our various programs, while also encouraging the youth to keep furthering their musical abilities. HS musicians will go to the elementary school once a week after school to mentor the students.

Musical Club
The Musical Club meets every Friday after school to watch and discuss Broadway versions of musicals. Students will also travel to see musicals that are showing in the central Pennsylvania area. This club is open to any student in grades 9-12.

National Honor Society
National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious group of 11th and 12th grade students who demonstrate outstanding Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Students must apply for membership by completing a Membership Candidate Form. Once students are inducted into the Daniel E. Lewis Chapter, they participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities, thus serving their school and community.

NEXUS
Nexus is Hershey High School’s Literary Arts club. We are a group of students who are passionate about all forms of artistic expression, and we provide opportunities like open mics and Nexus Arts Night for our fellow students and teachers to demonstrate their artistic talents. Each year, we also publish our annual literary magazine that contains Hershey students' short stories, poetry, photography, graphic designs, and illustrations. We encourage anyone who loves the arts to join!

PA Jr. Academy of Science
Students in this club choose, design, and carry out an independent science fair project to enter in a regional science fair competition. At the competition, participants make a ten-minute oral presentation to a panel of judges during which they describe their work and results. Students who earn first awards at the regional level are invited to compete at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science State Science Fair Competition, held at Penn State University’s State College Campus each May.

Percussion Ensemble Club
The main goal of this club is to provide challenging music opportunities for percussionists and other students that is an enrichment beyond their requirements for other music ensembles. Students will build fundamental musicianship skills and be exposed to repertoire that is standard in percussion ensemble settings.

Play It Forward Club
The goal of this club is to collect donations of equipment, active wear, and other athletic required materials throughout the year and organize events to distribute to those in need.

Poetry Out Loud
The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with State Arts Agencies of the United States to support the expansion of Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. This exciting program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn more about their literary heritage. The winners of local competition go onto the state, then onto the National competition.

Within the meeting of this club, students would discuss recent updates in the Pokemond World, play the card and video games, and support each other in this created community within our school.

Powerlifting
The mission of the HHS Powerlifting Team is to introduce male & female high school athletes to the sport of powerlifting. The team provides student-athletes with an opportunity to learn how to safely compete in the squat, bench press and deadlift. In addition to the core lifts, we teach how to properly supplement their training with accessory exercises and also how to take care of themselves with proper nutrition and rest. We practice on Mon, Wed and Fri from 3:-5:30 pm Dec - April.

PULSE
PULSE is the Penn State College of Medicine’s educational outreach program for high school students passionate about the biomedical sciences. The PULSE program is a semester long (Sept-Dec) program taught at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Monday evenings from 4-6:30 PM. PULSE aims to cultivate interest in medicine, biomedical science, and healthcare systems science by introducing passionate learners to medical students, biomedical researchers, and practicing clinicians. Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Club
The Random Acts of Kindness Club grew out of an idea from two students who wanted “to make the world a better place, one good deed at a time.” At our club meetings we share ideas for spreading friendship and good cheer throughout Hershey High School and in the community. Some of activities we have completed are: writing thank you notes to our families, our teachers and our friends, Breakfast to DTPD. We also made cards for the DTSD Building and Grounds Department and host our Lemon-aid stand.

Representation of Asian Students
Create fun moments for all students involved while helping raise awareness and donations. The main mission of the club is to engage students in fighting a real life problem and to be a good global citizen.

Science for All Club
The Chemistry and Medicine club or Chem/Med Club as it is called, allows students to study STEM beyond the classroom. We do experiments that we may not be able to do in class. We have talks with local medical students and doctors to see what is expected in med school and how to get there. We are working to develop a STEM program for the Hershey elementary school students.

Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a regional, state, and national science competition in which school-based teams of 15 students compete in 23 events across various science fields. Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering, and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved.

Sitcom Club
Laughs and smiles abound in Hershey High School’s Sitcom Club. Each week, we watch an episode from a television comedy, including The Office, Parks and Recreation, Seinfeld, Cheers, Arrested Development, and many more. Afterward, we discuss the episode and examine the structural elements of storytelling present in the program. Refreshments are often brought in by students, and our doors are always open to new members.

Ski Club
The Hershey High School Ski Club is designed for both new and experienced skiers and snowboarders. We have a preliminary informational meeting in October to explain the Night Club Card process. We then meet again in January, and typically take 4-6 ski trips to Ski Roundtop on Thursdays after school. Sign ups are due by mid-October of each year.

Spanish Club
Hershey High School’s Spanish Club is a group of students who gather together to celebrate the language, customs and food of different Spanish-speaking cultures.The goal of Spanish Club is to not only have fun, but to also raise awareness about different cultures, through events like the annual International Fair, and also to make a positive impact on the lives of people around the world, through fundraising projects like the Pulsera Project.

The Spanish National Honor society recognizes high achievement in Spanish. Students must apply for membership during their junior or senior year. Members of the society assist with tutoring lower level Spanish students and also participate in community service projects.

Speech and Debate Competition Team
Speech and Debate club puts your speaking and debating skills to the test by competing in competitions statewide. This club fosters opportunities to practice your presentation skills and fine tune arguments on either side to make you a well-rounded, articulate speaker.

This club wold contribute to the mission of Hershey High School by getting students and friends together to have fun and participate in physical activity. Students will learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work.

Student Council
Student Council representatives are elected to work with teachers and the administration on behalf of the student body. Representatives from each grade also plan school activities like Homecoming and contribute to charitable activities in the school and community. Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
The SADD club’s mission is to bring awareness to current trends in choices teenagers are making related to topics such as drugs and alcohol use, mental health, bullying, safe driving practices, etc.

Superhero Club
The Superhero Club is a group for superhero fans of all levels. Our topics of discussion vary from upcoming superhero movies to debating about our favorite characters. Whether you enjoy reading the occasional comic book or like watching Batman movies, this is the club for you. The club meets every other Friday at 7:10 AM in Mr. Fornataro’s Room, E220.

Technology Recovery Club
The Technology Recovery Club is designed for students interested in repurposing laptops, desktops, printers and other forms of technology. We take unwanted computer equipment and, when possible, refurbish this technology so that it can be reused.

TEDxYouth@ChocolateAve
This club will organize a TEDx (i.e. an officially licensed, independently organized gathering where TED-like talks are shared) both in order to provide a platform for sharing ideas and to unite the community through the sharing of those ideas.

Tri-M Music National Honor Society
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education(NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. Tri-M is the only music honor society for junior/middle school and high school students in the country. Tri-M recognizes students that have gone above and beyond musically. Tri-M also provides students leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

Trojan Trading Post
The Trojan Trading Post, established in 2009, is a school store located at Hershey High School in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Students operate and market the various products for the store. 100% of the profit from the Trojan Trading Post goes toward the Trojan Trading Post Scholarship Fund, which is given to a senior student pursuing business at the college level. Over $8,000 in scholarships has been awarded to date.

UNICEF Club
The main goal of the UNICEF club will ultimately be to partner with the U.S. Education Fund to support UNICEF. UNICEF is famously known for protecting the world's most vulnerable children, ensuring children's rights providing health care, basic education, and protection for emergency relief. The club will aim to turn young students into educators, advocates, and civil servant leaders through community service, fundraising, collaborating partnerships, and leadership opportunities.

Vinyl Club
The vinyl club is dedicated to promoting an interest in different genres of music, with a focus on audio that has been mastered on vinyl records. During a typical meeting members will discuss topics relating to music while listening to records selected by club members. It is not necessary to own records to be a part of this club. Anyone who is interested in music is welcome to participate. Currently the club meets Tuesday, from 2:40pm – 4:00pm.

We Matter Club
The main goal of We Matter is to help students feel more connected to the Hershey High School community and to help them to understand that they matter through fellowship and kindness. In addition to our efforts to make everyone matter, the group will be participating in community initiatives to spread awareness of mental illness and the supports that are available.

Wireworks
WIREWorks is an arts/technology workshop whose mission is to encourage students to create and produce original musicals and audience-based technologies. True to the original intent of Scotch'n'Soda at Carnegie-Mellon, WIREWorks encourages young artists & technicians to learn their craft through the creation of new works under the mentorship of teachers and professional in the fields of theater, music and technology. This program also provides ‘practice’ and development opportunities.

Writing Club
The Writing Club will help HS students with an interest in writing to learn and grow in the subject, which will improve the students’ writing assignments in school. Writing also gives students a chance to expand their creativity. Writing is a way to practice thinking creatively, with various strategies, sentence combinations, ways of compiling events into novels or essays, different types of writing and more.

Yearbook
Yearbook Do you like writing articles, taking pictures, or creating pages that tell a story? If so, the yearbook club is for you. We are responsible for creating the yearbook for the Hershey High School each year. The club uses software such as ImagoFlo, Studio Works, and Picassa to create a book that tells the story for each year at Hershey High School. This book is treasured by all and will be looked at over and over again as graduates look back at their high school careers.

Young Democrats
Young Democrats seek to engage young democrats in the pursuit and implementation of the values and principles of the Democratic Party. Through outreach, educational activities and advocacy, the Hershey Young Democrats will promote the ideals of the Democratic Party, and lend its support to those candidates and members who exhibit the highest standards of integrity and conviction. The Hershey Young Democrats will work incessantly to empower Hershey residents and the community through its alliance.
