Welcome Back Message

  • Dear Hershey Elementary School Family,

Final preparations are underway in our elementary buildings as we anticipate the arrival of our students to kick off our 2022-2023 school year. Classes will begin for students on Monday, August 22, 2022. Our doors will open at 8:25 a.m. so please plan your arrival no earlier than 8:20 a.m. daily. Students should be in their classrooms for classes begin at 8:40 a.m. Students arriving after this time will be considered tardy.

Safety is a priority at all times. We encourage you to have your child ride on our district provided transportation. Our drivers are focused on getting students to and from school in a safe and timely manner. Dismissal begins at 3:35 p.m. Please discuss end of day dismissal plans with your child. Students are dismissed from school in one of three ways. Students will either ride the bus, be considered a walker, or be considered a parent pick-up in the car line. **Please note, students who are walkers MUST live in the walking zone unless there is administrative approval. Please see the attached information (sent via mail) regarding our dismissal procedures for the elementary and ECC buildings. Two (2) pick-up/dismissal car tags have been enclosed that should be displayed in the vehicle by the approved adult(s) picking up your child as stated in their dismissal note. Thank you, in advance, for treating the safety of all children as if they were your own.

For all students Kindergarten through 5th grade, our annual “Sneak-a-Peek” event will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. During this time, you and your child are invited to stop by his or her assigned homeroom where you can meet the teacher and see the classroom. Medication Drop- off will be held on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, please mark your calendars for our “Back to School Night" which will be held on Thursday, September 8th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Parking is available in the bus corral for both events.

Please take time to review the Student/Parent Handbook found on our website www.hershey.k12.pa.us.

With you as our partners, we will work collaboratively to engage, elevate and ensure high levels of learning for ALL students. We are looking forward to a great year!

    Working for children and families,

Jena Funck, Heidi Stine, Alexandria DeCicco, and Anna Gawel

Transportation Information

  • Infofinder Bus Route Website

Bus route information for the 2022-2023 school year is now live on the Infofinder website.

When visiting the site, enter your street address in the appropriate space on the upper left side of the screen. To improve the accuracy of the bus stop match, be sure to include house numbers and directional suffix.  Do not use any periods or hyphens. Please note that the response to your query will only provide bus stop-specific information and will not provide any student identification information.

If your address search produces a response of “HS/MS walking area” or “ELEM walking area” - that is an indication no district transportation is provided for that address.  If no stops appear at all or the message “No Busing Information Available” is displayed please contact the Transportation Department at 717-566-7422 for assistance.
If your bus stop information has changed from last year, please email trans@hershey.k12.pa.us or phone at 717-566-7422 option 1 before 8/15/2022. Changes beyond 8/15/22 might not be able to occur for the start of school.
