Meal Cost for 2022-2023 School Year
-
Returning to the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs
During the pandemic, USDA issued a nationwide waiver that approved free meals for all students in K-12 schools to account for unprecedented circumstances. This waiver has been in place since the early onset of the pandemic in 2020 and expired on June 30, 2022. This notification is to inform you that effective the 2022-2023 school year, all school meals will return to full price or free/reduced if your family qualifies.
If your child was Directly Certified through the state or if you were approved for free/reduced meals through a household application last school year, these benefits will carry over 30 days into next school year. If your child was not eligible for free or reduced meals this school year, they will be classified as full pay starting the first day of school.
As we approach the new school year, please consider applying for free or reduced-price school meals if you feel your family may be eligible. The free/reduced household applications can be completed at any time. Please visit https://www.schoolcafe.com/DerryTownshipSD to complete your application and or place funds on your child’s account. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Food Service Office at 717-531-2233.
