Community Relations & Engagement
The Community Relations and Engagement department is responsible for communicating all district news and events while being the first point of contact for families, taxpayers, and the media. We welcome any and all inquires and encourage discussion regarding our district.
Along with the Superintendent, the Supervisor of Community Relations and Engagement serves as the official media spokesperson for the school district.

All media requests should be directed to the Supervisor of Community Relations & Engagement. DTSD students may not be interviewed or photographed by the media without District and parent consent.
Awards
Derry Township School District and Sarah Harmer’s exceptional communication skills and hard work have been recognized in the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association’s (PenSPRA) 2021 Excellence in Communications Contest! This year, over 200 outstanding entries were submitted for rigorous judging, and of those entries, we have received the distinction of being awarded an Award Of Excellence in Graphic Design.
Derry Township School District and Sarah Harmer are proud to share that we have been recognized in the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association’s 2022 Excellence in Communications Contest! This year, close to 250 outstanding entries were submitted for rigorous judging, and of those entries, we have received the distinction of being awarded an Award of Merit for the Derry Township School District Instagram social media account. This award is a reflection of our district and made possible by the passion, dedication and support that our students, staff and community show each and every day. We are truly proud to share this honor and celebration with all of you!
