Hershey High School Football Stadium Update

We want to address recent information found on Facebook regarding our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and the use of Hersheypark Stadium for our home football games.

Our MOU with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts has very generously allowed us to use Hersheypark Stadium for our Hershey High School home football games during the regular season since 2006. As part of the MOU, there is an understanding that with 3 years’ notice, the MOU could be terminated. The district received that notice on July 29, 2024. As Hershey continues to be a popular destination for concerts and events, we acknowledge that our agreement with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts is reaching its conclusion.

While we have cherished our time at Hersheypark Stadium, we are thrilled about the exciting opportunities this move brings for our students, parents, staff, and community. Playing on our home field will give us greater scheduling flexibility and the true experience of ‘Friday Night Lights.’ We are eager to see our families able to walk to HHS Stadium or enjoy easy and accessible parking. The chance to fill our own stadium, creating an electrifying atmosphere with packed bleachers, is something we can’t wait to experience together!

Last season, our Trojans had a fantastic run, advancing into the post-season. With the ability to host home games on our campus, we’ll have the flexibility and convenience to continue our post-season journey easily, even on short notice.

While we appreciate that change can bring about feelings of nostalgia and can take time to process, we are truly excited about the opportunity to bring Hershey High School football onto our home turf. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible, and we believe it will enhance the overall experience for everyone involved.

Although we still have three years remaining on our MOU, we are actively working to expedite the return of Hershey High School Football to our campus, with hopes of making this happen as early as this season. Our beautiful new track and turf are ready for games, and we are now just awaiting additional seating to accommodate all of our fans. For now, our home games remain scheduled at Hersheypark Stadium as we await approval to add seating. We will keep the community informed through Board Meetings, our website, and social media posts regarding the dates and locations of our games.
