The three categories include poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. A first and second place winner is selected from each category in both the high school and middle school division, resulting in a total of twelve awards and cash prizes. Congratulations to Samantha Koegler and Allie Weller for taking 2nd Place overall in Millersville University's Science Knowledge Competition. The examination, assembled by various math and science department faculty, is a set of random questions in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, enviornmental science & sustainability, mathematics, nursing, physics, technology and the health professions.

We were pleased to have Louis Thieblemont, noted lecturer, flight trainer, and retired pilot, as guest speaker at Hershey High School. After graduating from New York Institute of Technology, he worked for Air France as a Flight Dispatch officer at the JFK airport where he also managed computerized flight plans. He eventually became a commercial pilot for 37 years, first for TWO and then American Airlines. At the present time, Mr. Thieblemont lectures around the world on scientific topics ranging from astronomy, aviation, Antarctic exploration, computer graphics and flight simullation.

Congratulations to Jordan Marie Lewis for taking first place in The Hershey Poetry Out Loud AND Shakespeare Competitions. Emma Starr took 2nd place in Poetry Out Loud and Aria Aubrey took 2nd place in The Hershey Shakespeare Competition.
Jordan won the Regional Poetry Out Loud Competition at the WITF Studios and continue onto the state competition in March. The State Shakespeare Competition will take place on February 15, 2020 at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.

Congratulations for Avi Lukacher for taking First Place in this year's Brain Bee with Rachel Lyn-Sue taking Second. Almost a graduate level competition in neurology, the test is quite difficult and lasted from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They did Hershey proud.
