• HMS Parent Involvement

ParentsHershey Middle School encourages parents to be active in their child's education by volunteering or participating in two parent organizations established at the school. Parents can join the school's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and/or attend monthly Building Advisory Team (BAT) meetings.

Derry Township School District welcomes parent and guardian visits to our programs and classrooms (consistent with School Board Policy 907) The District expects mutual respect, civility, and orderly conduct from all visitors. To preserve the integrity of the learning environment, student and staff safety and protect students’ rights to confidentiality, the district has established Visitation Guidelines.

    Building Advisory Team
To keep the lines of communication open between the middle school and community, the school has formed a Building Advisory Team (BAT), which serves in an advisory capacity to the building administrator. BAT meetings are held monthly - usually on the first Wednesday of each month at at 9:00 a.m. They are held via ZOOM and open to any interested parent.
