• Comments, Concerns, & Questions
    The Derry Township School District encourages parents and guardians to communicate with the district regarding their child or about any part of the district’s operations. When a question or concern occurs, the parent or guardian should attempt to resolve it at the local school level if it is about their child or through the appropriate department if it is a general inquiry or question. Any questions or concerns directed to district administration or the board shall be referred to local level for resolution.

     

    If you would like to ask a question or share a concern about your child, speak to your child's teacher first. Additional contact can be made with your child's building principal after first speaking with your child's teacher. Building principals are as follows:

    For general questions or concerns about any part of the District’s operations, please refer to the easy reference guide provided below:

    • For matters relating to Guidance services including but not limited to course selection, college preparedness, and the educational, personal, or social growth of their child, contact your child’s guidance counselor directly.
    • For matters relating to Health Services including but not limited to physical and dental exams, health screenings, immunizations, dispensing of medication, or the wellness of students, contact your child’s school nurse directly.

    For unresolved questions or concerns about curriculum and instruction, contact Cynthia Goldsworthy, Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, at 534-2501 or cgoldsworthy@hershey.k12.pa.us. For unresolved questions or concerns about personnel and student support services, contact Michael Michaels, Assistant to the Superintendent for Personnel and Student Support Services at 534-2501 or mmichaels@hershey.k12.pa.us.
     
    If the matter is still unresolved after a meeting with the appropriate assistant to the superintendent, the complainant should petition Dr. Linda Brewer, Superintendent, for a review at 534-2501 or lbrewer@hershey.k12.pa.us. If a satisfactory solution is not achieved by discussion with the superintendent, the matter should be forwarded to the board of school directors for a review, which may include a hearing before the board of school directors. The board may be contacted at board@hershey.k12.pa.us.
