The school psychologists provide the following services.
Consultation & Collaboration
- Partner with teachers, families, and administrators to solve learning and behavior challenges.
- Provide guidance on child development and its impact on learning and behavior.
- Strengthen school-family-community partnerships to support student success.
- Support transition planning for students moving to secondary school or beyond.
Evaluation & Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for special education and gifted services.
- Assess academic skills, learning readiness, and response to interventions.
- Evaluate social-emotional functioning, mental health, and learning environments.
Intervention & Mental Health Support
- Deliver short-term counseling and skills training (e.g., social skills, anger management).
- Collaborate with students and families to address adjustment, learning, and behavioral concerns.
- Assist in crisis response and recovery within the school community.
Prevention & Wellness
- Develop proactive programs to reduce risk factors and promote positive behavior.
- Foster safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive school environments.
- Build partnerships with families and community agencies to enhance well-being.
Research & Systems Planning
- Use data and evidence-based practices to guide academic and behavioral interventions.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
