Meet the Staff
Phil Ayala, Director of Technology
Phil has been with the District since 2013. Prior to his current position, he was employed at Widener University and the University of Nevada.
Mr. Ayala is a 2004 graduate of Derry Township School District and earned a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2009. While attending school, he worked in the university helpdesk as a technician and later as the coordinator.
Traci Landry, M.Ed, Director of Professional Learning and Innovation
Traci Landry currently serves as the Director of Professional Learning and Innovation. Mrs. Landry has served in public education since 1993, all of those years working here in the Derry Township School District. Prior to her current position, she spent 15-years of her tenure as a classroom teacher at the primary level and also served the district in the role of Instructional Technology Specialist for 5 years.
Mrs. Landry earned her Undergraduate Degree from Penn State University; a Master’s in Educational Administration from Temple University and received her Instructional Technology Specialist certificate from Penn State University. She also holds certifications as an Elementary Principal and in K-12 Business and Computer Technology. Most recently she earned a letter of endorsement from PENN in Online Teaching and Learning. Traci currently resides in Hershey with her husband, son, and dog.
Teresa (Teri) L Shuey, IC3, Data Analyst / PIMS Administrator
Teresa currently serves as the District’s Data Analyst and PIMS Administrator. Mrs. Shuey has been with the school district 25 years and in the IT field 37. She started out in 1999 as a school Network Technician and transitioned to working with the schools student data systems during the summer of 2006. Prior to that, she was a Project Analyst for Fulton Bank in Lancaster County. Mrs. Shuey currently holds an IC3 certification for Internet and Core Computing Technologies. Her educational background includes attending HACC, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, the Pennsylvania Department of Education and various other technology related courses. Teresa is a 3-time nominee for PDE’s Data Quality Network Data Governance Award of Excellence. In her free time, you can catch her spending time with her family and hanging out somewhere by the Chesapeake Bay.
Andrew Maya, Computer Technician
Andrew Maya is currently the Computer Technician at the High School. He has been in the IT field since 2010. Prior to his current position, he was employed with the Lebanon School District as a Technology Associate. Mr. Maya earned his Associates Degree in Computer Network Systems. He is also Head Soccer Coach for both High School and Middle School Boys’ Teams here at Derry Township.
Edward Guzman, Computer Technician
Edward Guzman is currently the Computer Technician at Hershey Middle School. Prior to his position at Derry Township School District, Mr. Guzman was the Helpdesk Team Leader at Commonwealth Charter Academy for almost 3 years, and before that Mr. Guzman was a helpdesk technician at CCA and Latino Connection in Harrisburg PA. Mr. Guzman, enjoys assisting community events. He often volunteers at Latino Connection, a local business that helps organizations serve the Spanish-speaking community in Pennsylvania and beyond. Mr. Guzman attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and earned a bachelor’s degree on Information Technology and Networking.
Tim Gawel, Computer Technician
Tim Gawel is currently the Computer Technician at Hershey Elementary School and Hershey Early Childhood Center. Prior to his position at Derry Township, Mr. Gawel worked for a private audio visual company as a live event technician for 22 years and branch manager for 12 of those. Prior to that, Tim worked with the IT Department at Marywood University for 5 years. Mr. Gawel graduated from Marywood University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree.
Jared Nicholson, System Analyst
Jared Nicholson is currently the Computer Technician at Hershey Middle School. Prior to his position at Derry Township, Mr. Nicholson was a technician at Lebanon High School for 6 years, and before that Mr. Nicholson was a laptop repair technician at PC Parts, and repair in Harrisburg PA. Mr. Nicholson was also a Volunteer Technician at the Lebanon Community Library. Mr. Nicholson attended New Horizons Technology school where he earned multiple certifications in IT. He is also the website admin, and tech for Creter Guitar Shop, on the weekends.
Sean Bradley, Key Operator for the Print Shop
Sean Bradley currently serves as the Key Operator for the Print Shop. He has been with the District for over 18 years. He earned a degree from Lebanon County Career and Technology in Printing Technologies.
