Derry Township Tax Association Information & FAQ
At its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 24, 2022, the Derry Township School District Board of Directors appointed Keystone Collections Group as the agency responsible for collecting the district’s Local Service Tax and Occupation Tax beginning on January 01, 2023.
Beginning November 7, 2022, cash payments will no longer be accepted. Office hours will also be changing to Monday and Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help understand the process to help our residents.
- Is the Derry Township Tax Association Closing?
Yes. Beginning on January 01, 2023, the Derry Township Tax Association office will no longer accept payments of any taxes for calendar year 2023. Real Estate Tax Collections will be provided by the Dauphin County Treasurers Office. Local Service Tax and Occupation Tax will be collected Keystone Collections Group.
- Are there going to be modified hours for the remainder of 2022?
Yes. Beginning on Monday, November 07, 2022, the Derry Township Tax Association office will ONLYbe open Monday and Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The tax office will be closed Thursday through Sunday.
- Will cash payments be accepted for the remainder of 2022?
NO. Beginning on Monday, November 07, 2022, cash payments for taxes will no longer be accepted. Payment must be made by check.
- Why Keystone Collections Group?
Keystone Collections group will offer a wide variety of convenient services to our residents. As well as multiple types of forms of payment, such as ACH, credit card, apple pay, and google pay. They are also available for online and as well as phone for any assistance regarding payment or questions.
- Now that Dauphin County is assuming Real Estate Tax collection services, can I pay online with Dauphin County?
Yes. Dauphin County offers the ability to pay for all County managed services, including real estate taxes, online.
- Does Dauphin County provide this service to any other municipalities or school districts?
Yes. In addition to collecting all County taxes, the Office of the Treasurer collects for the City of Harrisburg, eight municipalities, and a few school districts.
- When will tax collection services change over to Dauphin County and Keystone Collections Group?
This change will occur January 01, 2023.
- Who will collect my occupation tax?
Beginning on January 01, 2023, Keystone Collections Group will collect the Occupation Tax for Derry Township School District. You will receive an Occupation Tax bill from Keystone Collections Group via First Class Mail. You will be able to remit payment by check or remit payment online through the Keystone Collections Group website by ACH, credit card, Apple pay or Google Pay. Additionally, you will have access to Keystone Collections Group customer service support to speak with someone directly.
